Judo World Masters Almaty 2012 - Draw

Today, the official draw of the JUDO WORLD MASTERS ALMATY 2012 took place at the Almaty Sports Palace, in the presence of the IJF president, Mr. Marius L. VIZER, Mr. Elsiyer KANAGATOV, deputy minister of Sports of Kazakhstan Republic, Mr. Beket MAKHMUDOV, president of Kazakhstan Judo Federation, Mr. Obaid AL-ANZI, president of Asian Judo Union and IJF vice president, Mr. Vladimir BARTA, IJF Head Sport Director and Mr. Juan BARCOS, IJF Head of Referee Commission.            
         
“This year, the JUDO WORLD MASTERS ALMATY 2012 offers a thrilling opportunity for the world’s athletes to gain points toward qualification for participation in the Olympic Games in London in 2012.  I am fully convinced that the athletes have the conscience they are role models for the youth of the world, they reject the doping and make us proud of theirs achievements and their conduct. I am anticipating an exciting and highly competitive days for the entire Judo Community present at this competition.  Because we are participating to the 2012 first IJF judo event, I would like to wish to all the members of Judo Family “A Happy and Fulfilling New Year!”  To the organizers a successful event, to all the guests to enjoy the best judo, for the athletes to experience good luck during the competition and to continue together to build the future through sports, in the spirit of the Olympic values: Excellence, Friendship and Respect!”- emphasized the IJF president, Mr. Marius L. VIZER.
         
On behalf of the Government of Kazakhstan Republic, Mr. Elsiyer KANAGATOV, deputy minister of Sports welcomes the athletes in Almaty and thanked to IJF Executive Committee and, especially, to the IJF president, Mr. Marius VIZER, for the support. Mr. Beket MAKHMUDOV, president of Kazakhstan Judo Federation, affirmed his gratitude for the IJF president sustain in the organization of this event and he assured that the authorities from Kazakhstan will submit all the efforts for the judo development  in their country.            
           
At the JUDO WORLD MASTER ALMATY 2012 will fight for medals 219 athletes (109 judoka women, 110 men) from 44 nations. The event will be honored by the presence of:
-9 Olympic Champions (5 men, 4 women);
-25 World Champions (14 men, 11 women);
-31 Continental Champions (18 men, 13 women).
