The Kosovo Judo Federation was accepted as full member of the International Judo Federation.

International Judo Federation
The decision to accept the Kosovo Judo Federation as a full member of the International Judo Federation was taken by the IJF Executive Committee on April 10, 2012

On April 19, the IJF Presidential Office in Budapest welcomed the Minister of Sports from Kosovo, Mr. Memli Krasniqi, the President of the Kosovo Olympic Committee, Mr. Besim Hasani, the President of the Kosovo Judo Federation, Mr. Agron Kuka, Assistant to the Minister of Sports, Mr. Flamur Krasniqi, the National Coach of the Kosovo Judo Team, Mr. Driton Kuka as well as Junior World Champion Majlinda Kelmendi, the only athlete from Kosovo qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

In presence of Mr. Marius Vizer, International Judo Federation President and Mr. Sergey Soloveychik, European Judo Union President, the representatives of the Kosovo delegation received a diploma of recognition of their IJF membership, as well as assurance of the two organizations’ ongoing support. The level of Judo in Kosovo is much appreciated and the International Judo Federation considers that the Kosovo Judo Federation will be able to develop even more in the future.
